Olympic sham

I had to debate whether to talk about the Olympics or energy resources. I had to chose Olympics today.
Beijing will host the Olympics in 2008. On Fark.com, there was an article how people are getting kicked out of their homes in order to beautify Beijing by creating more parks. When people complain, they go to jail and stay there. I have nothing against claiming land for public domain purposes, but China does it to the extreme, and everybody looks the other way. (I like the idea of the Three Gorges Dam, and can't wait to see if it works) I use this example of how the Olympics have outlived their purpose.
Billions were spent on security and building for the Athens Olympics, and it was all a waste. Though I haven't looked into it, the facilities are a big waste of space and resources. If I was a more diligent scholar, I would do more research on Greece's current condition, but I don't have time. The main point is that there was a lot of whining about everybody being scared and worrying, while they should have spent practically nothing and found out who really believed in sport. The purpose of "the Olympics" is better served by individual sports championships, where the real athletes compete.
I will only mention that the corruption scandals that preceded the Olympics and the committee's outdated structure only further the evidence against the Olympics.
Back to China...it was ridiculuous to give Beijing the Olympics. China, despite the trade surplus, a developing disaster. It is growing beyonds its means at a breathneck pace. Beyond the urban centers where new buildings with the best technology are being built, it is backward. The divided nature of the provincial/municipal/national governments makes every person simply look out for him/herself. The governments only saving grace is its ability to destroy people's homes and lives in order to do what it thinks is necessary.
Money for the Olympics could better be spent on important things. environment, sustainable development, improving people's lives. When the Olympics come, everybody will ignore how wasteful they are on a global level.

Makes you say hmmm

So I guess the last two did work, but I wasn't refreshing my browsage correctly. I look forward to starting good posts tomorrow.

Third attempt

It seems that I am talking to myself because my posts aren't working. New posts will come once I figure this out. Isit me, or am I retarded?

Don't understand

Well, I guess my last post totally didn't work. That is a shame because it laid out the plan for my next posts. This post is just a test to see if I can do things correctly. Will start posting tomorrow again and such.

Suplicate yourself before anpan man Posted by Hello

It begins

I had to create this because I was thinking things and had to get them down in a non-comment format on other peoples' blogs and shit. Basically I will be just saying things that come to me...like everybody else the blogging world. I need to figure out how to put a quote at the beginning of my blog and shit.

I originally wanted to title this "China and Africa" because those are the two places where humanity will fail and has failed, and I think it is important to think about that. But, I chose "Papshmeredou" as my title. Papshmere is me, originally adopted from the "naked gun" movies, though eventually learned the spelling should be "papshmir", and "dou", which is the romanization of the japanese for "way". Loosley translated as "the way of papshmere". This is not meant to say my way is the best, but to emphasize that we each have our own way, but there still is a way universal to all...I semi-dislike the name already.

The second thing is reading about base closures and how people try to make it into a political thing instead of an economical and security thing. I am an economist by study, but not now by trade, and I look at things in that manner...mainly because by doing that you can eliminate the political and bullshit. Second, secuirty studies are bullshit. They all depend on creating a threat in the mind and turning it into a reality. There is no connection to sociologically eliminating it from a non-"blowing up" perspective. For example, "china=bad. We buy much from china. Let's 1.) engage china and build factories 2.) build defences against the chinese military that we are funding. " There is no response on the demand side, or on the "we are one world side". It is about energy and americans getting their cheap stuff at retail outlets. I would say wal-mart, but it is impossible to not but most goods that aren't made in china (hardware).

The part about Africa is best easily exemplified in the movie "Hotel Rwanda". I knew about that shit long before the movie and understood africa, from my perspective, which I will explain late, many years ago. But, the movie does an excellent job of portraying how a continent can be abandoned and how people can turn into animals. Conflicts in eatern europe and shit show this as well. Everywhere you can see, in the past and present, how humanity turns its back on itself. I am not singling out two areas to say they are evil, but as lakes reflect the moon, they reflect the world's wrongs.

Everything is too complicated for one post, so I will continue on. Hopefully I will figure out the setting and such so it can look good and provide thoughts.

later...from papshmere, of course
